We've now gone hands-on with the game, and at this point we can assure Rock Band fans that the Wii version you'll be getting this holiday season is far from a push-over, and one that is pushing the Wii in a pretty big way thus far. We'd be lying if we said we weren't previously concerned with the state of Rock Band 2 for Wii, as the other console games have all hit (minus PS2), and we've heard not much more than a few whispers on Nintendo's system offering. Whether any of the Guitar Hero World Tour instruments will work as well is still unconfirmed, since they aren't out, and thus we can't compare them, but Guitar Hero III's controllers do in fact work, according to MTV Games. Slowly but surely though, things are starting to change, and along with a huge list of improvements from the original, Rock Band 2 also has some interesting options for gamers, starting with the just-confirmed ability to use Guitar Hero III controllers in Rock Band 2 for Wii. On Wii, two different hardware philosophies have again split the crowd on the system, as players will need to choose - and some already have with Guitar Hero III and Rock Band Wii - one main game to play, or foot the bill and double-up on hardware.
